Build a layout for earnings season

A step-by-step setup with linked panels, stacked tabs and a shared layout, so your team reads every report from the same screen.

Earnings season compresses a quarter's worth of reading into a few weeks. The teams that get through it well aren't reading faster. They've set up a screen where the next report is always one click away.

Here's how to build that screen in Ledington, then share it with everyone on your desk.

Start with a watchlist

Create a watchlist of the companies reporting this season and link it to the red colour group. Everything else you add will join the same group, so clicking a name in the list moves the whole screen to that company.

Stack the reading into one panel

Open a panel and add three tabs to it:

  1. FA for the financial statements, so you can compare the new quarter with history.
  2. FIL for the filings themselves, newest first.
  3. N for company news, including the results announcement.

Link the panel to the red group. Now one panel follows the watchlist, and you flip between numbers, filings and news without losing your place.

A second panel for positioning and short interest gives context to the price reaction. Simulated data.

Add context around the numbers

Beside the reading panel, add a chart with GP set to a short time frame so you can see the reaction to the report. Below it, SI shows short interest, which helps explain moves that look outsized for the news.

If you follow the whole sector, save an EQS screen for it and turn on alerts, so you hear when a company enters the screen even if it isn't on your watchlist.

Pop out what you watch all day

Keep top news on a second monitor. Open TOP in its own panel and pop it out into a separate window. When the season ends, dock it back into the main layout.

Save it and share it

Once the screen works, save it as a layout named for the season and publish it to your workspace.

Switching between this and your everyday screen is one command: type LAY and pick the layout.

Try the terminal before you sign up

The demo runs on simulated data and needs no account, so you can open every panel and build a layout before you talk to anyone.

In your browser or on your desktop

Use Ledington in any modern browser, or install the desktop app for its own window and an always-on-top mode. Your layouts follow you between them.
